Hi! Astra Thanks for the welcome, yes my personal trainer does have some tips but.. I don't know. I resist quite well, I haven't had the turning point yet where I'm just going to go out and buy ALL entirely nutritional things. I'm really quite stubborn..

Every now and then, at least once a week at work though I have been trying to have just a smoothie and fruit salad at lunch.. but then at dinner, I crave something more substantial. So I'm not sure its a good balance..

My runners gave me blisters! Well, my socks kept slipping.

It's not easy to switch over entirely. I started with moving from regular soda to diet soda and then continued from there... Higher blood sugar definitely feeds cravings... Even if it's just replacing one type of simple carb with a complex carb then it's a win...

Some people do better with a gradual changeover and others are more successful long term with the 'cold turkey' method all at once

Have you tried the food journal too?

Have you tried Thorlo socks? I really like those... I need to go and have them assess my gait etc again because I'm needing a new pair and the place I buy them are great w/ their footwear consultations....

I have exercising socks that prevent blisters, but they weren't washed. My fault.

Astra I think I do need to plan something like that ; cutting down, making substitutes for what I love. Vanilla Coke is my guilty pleasure. And hot chips. MMM. Hungry now.

But for the most part, my biggest food flaw is that I am like a 5 year old with vegetables, I really don't eat enough, and living on my own, I don't really have anyone to nag me about it!

Hot chips...what are you trying to do to me, Kim?

I stopped drinking soda a few years ago. I still have Coke or Lemonade very occasionally but I think I've bought one bottle of the stuff in the past year. During the day I just drink water or tea. Sadly cutting down on soda is not really a sign of being virtuous, it's mainly because if I'm in a restaurant or bar I'll be having beer or wine instead of soft drinks

My biggest food flaw is my total lack of willpower. I can't have one chocolate, or a few Pringles. I just keep going

I need to get back to swimming. I'm getting too lazy. Yes I go skiing once a week but that's not enough. It's just... I have exams and it's hard to find time to do anything else.
I know those are just excuses. Tomorrow I'm going to the pool. *stomps foot*

I have the same problem. And it's worst at night in front of the tv. Then I get cravings for just about anything. The rest of the day I eat healthily though. I can't live without my daily dose of fruit and veggies, or low-fat yoghurt and healthy breakfast, but it's the snacking and the amount of it that has done me in. I'm trying to stop that but it's hard.

Can I be added to the list please?

Last week I started a diet.
Well at this moment I'm just making sure I drink enough water, eat enough fruit and vegetables,... I've stopped drinking Coke and eating too much cookies and chocolate.
So far things are going ok
I also try to exercise for about 30 minutes every day

Yesterday I got the GoWear Fit, (Welcome - GoWear fit – The Lifestyle and Calorie Management System) and it's now on my arm at all time. I can't wait to see how much I burn and stuff.

Awww Make sure your shoes fit properly too. Sometimes a little too loose can cause that too...

Soft drinks are definitely a hard habit to alter or break... Just make the decision and make it happen

I'm not a mega-veggie fan either... I have managed to do better though in recent years. Just by trying stuff (sometimes prepared various ways) I'm surprised that my taste buds actually 'like' such things as veggies now...

I have taken that willingness to try stuff and have even started eating and liking things I never expected to... Example... quinoa and tofu. Crazy, huh?

There is a book that discusses steaming veggies and pureeing them and adding them to various dishes and how you don't even really taste it but that way you get your veggies... Here's a link: Amazon.com: The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids' Favorite Meals: Missy Chase Lapine: Books There's also another one out there called "Deceptively Delicious" that you may want to look for. That's an option anyway... along with low sodium V8 juice to get your 'veggies'

Oh and seriously consider writing things down... It makes me much more aware of what I'm eating and how much

Before I forget, I added you to the list Nele
