Cleaning the House #1: Spring Cleaning is here.

My husband and I are doing our spring cleaning soon. We normally do an in-depth cleaning of the house, donate things we no longer want, etc. What do you all do for spring cleaning?

I need to do this with my closet , did a major cleaning out of the house about a year and a half ago and have been good about not adding to much back That is always the challenge.

Aw, yeah. Adding stuff back is the bad part of cleaning up. I'm really looking forward to de-cluttering the house.

Do you have that fear of needing something that you just got rid of because you haven't used it in years? My mom has this and it drives my dad nuts, so I"ve always been of the mind set, get rid of it and if I really do need at some later date, borrow if I can or just get a new one.

I guess I am too - or was, I'm learning to let go of things - especially some useless things that were my mom's before she passed away.

We de-cluttered the upstairs 2nd bedroom some (it's currently our storage room.) We are making progress. Before, we couldn't even walk into the room.

My mother said if I were to clean the house, keep it cleaned, she will pay for baking classes with Wilton.. Hmmm I guess that's a done deal!

Sounds like a done deal to me, Mandie.

We did a lot today in regards to clutter; we donated a lot of things to different places. Nice to see the house finally coming together after 4 years.

I haven't been to a yard sale since I was little. I would love to go this summer. Or even the flea market.

That sounds awesome, April! I haven't been to one in a while, but the flea markets are pretty cool for neat things.

My brother's hosting a yard sale in the beginning/late August. Sometime before school starts, but not in the heart. He's getting rid of a lot of his things that he and his ex-wife got together , but it works for us as well because if we have stuff at my house we're able to take it to his house and sell it there.

I saw a lot of yard sales today. Sometimes I am tempted to stop and look, but I don't want to add to my pile of unnecessary things.
