Hi everyone!!!

How have you been???

I finally made it to worship service on Sunday. the first time since May. My severe pain has kept me from from going. Also have been recovering from two severe falls from June. Waiting to have my knee surgery rescheduled for later this month.

My mom's mom(Granny's) favourite verse in the Bible was Psalm Chapter 19 verse 14 Psalm19:14 "Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my Heart be acceptable in Thy sight oh Lord, my Rock and My Redeemer!!!" A very good verse for the time and for today!!!

Hey, guys!

It’s been a while since I’ve stopped by this thread. Sorry about that.

I just wanted to see how people here feel about the NFL National Anthem controversy that’s happening right now.

Welcome back

I have so many thoughts on this whole NFL thing but I'm just gonna say sports shouldn't be politicized.

My friends bother committed suicide, she and her family are devastated, she confided in me that she is worried about his soul and how she's been brought up with the unpardonable sin and how suicide meant eternal damnation. She is struggling reallyhard with this.

I found this

https://billygraham.org/answer/what-...-committed-it/

You guys think that is appropriate to share with her? I need to find something that will help her.

that's so sad.

I don't know what I'd be able to show her but when I really think hard about it, I believe people who committ suicide aren't in the same zone as murderers of other people.

God knows everyone's personal trials of life and what they can handle and I believe that if God and Jesus Christ know exactly the suffering of humankind, the they understand the mental torture that people are just desperately trying to escape from and need relief from and can't think it through any better. I think these souls are greeted with understanding and get their solace and will be fairly judged and not condemned.

But that's my personal feelings about it. Not sure where else my view would be written anywhere,

Kali Oh hon I'm so sorry to hear. You can give her my Christian radio station's information for prayer line where people can pray with her. Prayer Requests (Anyone can email this for prayer) You can be there for her. Let her know you love her and you're around when she needs someone to talk to.

I'll do some research for bible verses for you that may help.

I talked to her early this morning and told her what I read, I think she feels a little better, if anyone really can in a time like this. She was raised straight up hard core catholic and is really struggling. I told her to pray and keep her faith.

Its just such a tragic situation

Mandie I'll pass that link on to her. Thanks. I've been searching for verses too but nothing really seems to be the right one.

Leanne I believe the same thing, God knows whats in your heart, evil vs suffering so I don't understand why it would be taught that it's an automatic one way ticket to hell, like with Military, police etc...

I’ve been told that the reason that those who committed suicide go “straight to Hell” is because they didn’t have a chance to ask for forgiveness before they appear before the gates. However, I struggle with this because once you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord & Personal Savior, you’ve already been forgiven of all your sins, past, present, & future! Of course, we still sin & need to confess our sins to the Lord throughout life, but if I were to “sin” & do something unacceptable in the eyes of God, then tragically died in a car accident before I “confessed”, I know I would go to Heaven, even though I didn’t have a chance to pray for forgiveness for my latest sins before I passed away. I feel it’s kinda like that with suicide, although it’s such a shame how anyone who follows Christ would feel the need to end their life, but we don’t know their hearts and I just pray that your friend finds comfort and understanding in the arms of the Lord. I pray she will see her brother in Heaven again one day, but she won’t know that until the time comes, but I hope she’ll be able to know that she’ll be rejoicing in the presence of the Lord anyway!

I'm sorry but a person who is in need of help does not need religion as a primary source of help, they need to see a certified psychologist, someone who can help them. Religion should be a spiritual experience not a substitute. Also I believe non Christian people are no less valuable than Christian persons as a state of personal value and as a state of law. I normally would not intrude in this thread but I thought I would make an input in response to what I read. I am not Anti- Christian by any means but I thought I had to respond I strongly disagree with.
