It's great for me to nicely explore England at my own pace. Someone at work asked me which city do I prefer, LA or London? That's a tough one for me because I went to HS and college in California and spent 26 years there, plus all my friends are there. LA has great beaches, sunshine and Hollywood, it's a great place to be. However, I was born in London and transferred there 3 years ago for work purposes but I think London just has a lot of variety- it's a awesome city and I'm proud to be a Londoner, even with my Cali accent. England has some incredibly beautiful places and I've visited quite a lot of places, and yes I've learned how to drive on the left side of the road

There is something about London that has the edge over LA. I'm glad I've come back to my roots....now I'm hoping to have my London accent back again which I used to have before emigrating to the US.
Even living in LA, picking up the accent and lifestyle, my sense of humor was always much more British with the sarcasm. I appreciate England a lot more now since I came back but it is all going to change with that big B word that is going to happen at the end of this month

I tend to visit a new place every weekend, although we've been favouring Nottingham for about 3 weekends now. Thinking of going somewhere new this weekend. We usually just wake up on Saturday mornings and decide on somewhere to go. Running out of places in England now, feeling like we may have to venture to Wales, although we've done most places in Wales too.

I really like Nottingham, good place to visit.
I'm trying to go to many places as I can. We made plans for the summer to go to Cornwall, Jersey, Isle of Wight and Skegness - thank goodness my wife is from England. I never heard of Skegness nor Isle of Wight

That sounds like a good set of places to visit. I've never been to the Isle of Wight, but I'd like to go.

Cornwall you will love. Skegness is okay too, but the Isle of Wight is a heap. It's not a very nice place and it's very run down. There have been rumours that the people who live there are all inbred too, because of how small it is and everyone who lives there never leaves. Although, that's probably just the British saying that.

So I should avoid Isle of Wight, right? Inbreds? Yuck

No matter what, England is so beautiful and picturesque

Queen Victoria's holiday home is there, that's worth a visit, but other than that I wouldn't venture too much around the island Apparently, it's like going into the middle of Wales or Scotland, if they catch a whiff of an accent that isn't theirs they don't like you.

I have London in 2 weeks time, and then in April 13th Highclere and then last week of April Newcastle again. July we're back in Scotland. Never a dull time.

So will they be ok with someone who has a American accent?

I live close to Wembley Stadium so that is NW London

Thanks for the pictures Norman
