Millie, if the movie is based on the book, then the plot starts off somewhere different. That wouldn't be the first time that a movie adaptation changed a lot of things, but the character in the novel doesn't start out a single mother and the father to her baby is not (so far anyway) a significant part of the story. He's essentially just how she gets pregnant and meets everyone else.

But, hey, maybe it provided inspiration to someone?

And I have Cloud Atlas somewhere around here. I'm not sure it's my cup of tea, to be honest. So I haven't attempted to read it yet.

Yeah IMDb. com said as much. No adaptation listed so mush be original screenplay.

I didn't know Cloud Atlas was based on a book in the first place.

Yeah, Could Atlas was a book first. It was called unadaptable because it runs such a crazy, insane wide gamut and is mostly philosophical than plot-driven. I mean, again, I haven't read it, but that's what I hear. I bought it because the author's name is David Mitchell and one of my favourite comedians is called David Mitchell. And "my" David Mitchell writes, so I thought I had found a secret book of his I hadn't heard of before.

Nope. Different David Mitchell. I suppose it must be a common name.

That's irony for you!

Went to the library with my mom and picked up a few books, then made a side trip to Starbucks for a Venti Iced Coffee!

The books I grabbed are:

"The Jane Austen Project" by Kathleen A. Flynn
"Scribe" by Matthew Guinn
"Murder on Black Swan Lane" by Andrea Penrose
"Mathew's Tale" by Quintin Jardine

I like anything Jane Austen, but the summary talks about time travel, so I'm not sure that would work for me.

I was thrown off too, but that's why I wanted to give it a shot because I remember watching "Lost In Austen" and loved that, so I wonder if it would be similar.

Millie: I really think you should give the book below a try. I LOVED, LOVED it! Very similar concept.

The Geek Girl and the Scandalous Earl

Pretty book room/office:

Not a lot of books for a book room. But a very nice, miniminalist sort of office.

I agree Sunny.

Tina - The cover for that book is so cheesy but I like the summary! Added it to my 'want to read' shelf!
