Okay so this got me thinking, and maybe it will make for interesting topic discussion so we can talk more:

You guys ever notice how Jacob is the only one to imprint outside of the tribe(s)?

-Sam/Emily (Em is from the Makah tribe)
-Jared/Kim
-Paul/Rachel
Quil/Claire (Claire is also most likely from the Makah tribe as she came down to visit and her cousin is Emily)

Now let's forget for a second that SM needed a reason to keep Jacob close to Bella.

Why is it, do you believe, Jacob imprinted on Renesmee, a non Native person?

Your so right about that... Every single one except Jacob... And to be honest I have no idea why that is... Maybe because she wanted to change things or something...

You bring up a good point Ron, and honestly I would have no idea why Jacob imprinted on a non native person although I think a reason could be is that imprinting isn't exclusive to just native americans in this world

My simple thought is because they were linked in terms of the whole hybrid thing- both two things at the same time.

Jacob had the highest chance of imprinting on her because he was the Alpha therefore his genetics were a lot stronger.

Had Sam not imprinted on Emily I think he would have stood a greater chance to imprint on Renesmee.
