Jen, your doodling is still cracking me up David Hasselhoff was part of you lecture? Oh boy...
My Lecturer tries to keep us interested by making him pop up and say things  also the mouldy head of Jeremy Bentham does the same thing. ;)

Yes, he invented the Panopticon, we learned about it in a lecture about CCTV & Surveillance.

Quote:

As requested in his will, his body was preserved and stored in a wooden cabinet, termed his "Auto-icon". Originally kept by his disciple Dr. Southwood Smith, it was acquired by University College London in 1850. The Auto-Icon is kept on public display at the end of the South Cloisters in the main building of the College. For the 100th and 150th anniversaries of the college, the Auto-Icon was brought to the meeting of the College Council, where he was listed as "present but not voting". Tradition holds that if the council's vote on any motion is tied, the auto-icon always breaks the tie by voting in favor of the motion.

The Auto-Icon has always had a wax head, as Bentham's head was badly damaged in the preservation process. The real head was displayed in the same case for many years, but became the target of repeated student pranks including being stolen on more than one occasion. It is now locked away securely.

I didn't expect ya'll to be on thread five already :)

My hand is starting to freak my out. I woke up this morning and the only part of my body that wasn't warm or wouldn't get warm is my right hand. Freaky.

I don't think vampires for lunch is a good idea...probably break a few teeth in the process. :look:

LOL. That sounds kinda Twilight-ish.

indigo sunrise 02-03-2008 09:34 AM

my hands are always cold and my right hand is always colder than my left hand  it's very weird! But I guess it makes sense, medically :look:

beautifullybroken 02-03-2008 09:39 AM

My feet are usually cold, I got poor circulation, but I tried everything to get my hand warm last night. I stuffed under a pillow and put it under a huge pile of blankets (I sleep with atleast 5, 3 heavy ones and 2 light ones) and it was still cold. It's still a bit colder than my other hand.
