I actually had a dream about Jacob coming back with a vampire girl he imprinted on

But she was kind of lost and she had the ability to heal, so she was only kind of a half-vampire, because her body fought off the venom. So, in my dream she had blue eyes and she hated other vampires. Because she could feel other people's physical pain

This was so weird...

So I could understand the notion of Jake/Tanya.

Anyway, I decided to not read the first chapter. First of all, I heard there was nothing about Jake in it

And second of all, I know how it is with me and those books: once I start, I can't stop. So I better have the whole book before I start reading

So after my freak out yesterday, I feel a bit better.

I'm still really disappointed with SM. It just seems like she's being lazy and trying to tie things up too quickly. Thus why some characters seem out of character.

Good idea. Be happy about that. I wish I had waited because it only served to upset me and now I have to wait a couple more months to see if I'm right to fear or not.

Exactly, I think a lot of people also already judge the book by its cover, or the first chapter in this case, and I think it would just make me so much more antsy

I was just wasting some time on Facebook the other day, and in a BD group I saw someone (someone I don't know at all, certainly not me) had a very interesting intepretation of the cover...

Spoiler:

On the cover, I believe that the red pawn represents bella as a human, still living, still full of blood, hence why its red. The pawn is the weakest piece in the board in a game of chess. It's in the background, as if that is Bella's past.
The Queen, in front of the pawn, represents Bella as a Newborn, the strongest piece on the board. As well... its marble white. So yes, I do believe Bella becomes a vampire.

Now note how the pawn is on a white square, white being Edward. So when she is still a human, she's with Edward.
However, once transformed, once the Queen, she's on a black square.. hence Jacob Black.
Yes. I said it, I think she might reconsider Jacob. o back up my point, here's what i think of the excerpt at the bottom.

I do believe that that excerpt underneath the picture is Bella talking to Jacob, not Edward. I say this because if she was talking to Edward, she would not be overwhelmed by how true that is because she's always said that to Edward, in the past three books, Bella has already realized how much Edward means to him, so why would she be surprised unless she was taking to Jacob?
And from the preface, it says "When you loved the one who was killing you, it left you no options." I think that the one who's killing her is Jacob, because once she's a vampire, she is now his mortal enemy. Jacob's instict is to kill Bella and the Cullen's, especially if the treaty was broken,
Having said that, when you look at the excerpt above, it says "Don't be afraid." I think that's Bella telling jacob not to be afraid of who they are. They could be together no matter is one is a werewolf and the other is a vampire.

I found this to be very interesting. I'm not sure if I like it or if it's being overly analytical, but it's a pretty well thought out theory. Any thoughts?

Wow, that's a really interesting interpretation. I like the idea of Bella reconsidering Jake though.

Oh, I don't think it's going to happen (and to be honest, I don't want it to happen *I know, smite me, I'm actually an EB fan*), as SM has pretty much solidified that Edward and Bella are endgame, but obviously you never know anything for certain with this series. I think that was such a deep, really well analyzed interpretation and would give some hope to the Jacob fans.

Kelley - I love your interpretation. I too thought that excerpt wasn't what it seemed and might be J/B. As far as the rest.........yes, it's probably unlikely, but I am hoping SM surprises and shocks all of us and I get a JB ending.

I think that's an interesting interpretation. But you could also see the black and white spots she's on as the good side and the bad side.

When she's still hum, she's on the good side (white), and convinced she'd never kill anyone or anything and all that jazz. But once she's a vampire, she's on the bad side (black), hence, she might be fighting the other vampires or maybe kill someone in the process of gaining control over herself.

That would be another possibility.

Also, I think yes, she might reconsider Jacob, however, if she tells him not to be afraid, maybe she's only talking about their friendship. He still is very important to her, werewolf or not...

haha my only hope is that the grammar improves. the editor went wacko in my opinion. i think it would be too much to think that jake would be happy after all. i like the little analysis though, it was well thought out. i still havent seen the cover

I haven't seen it either, but I believe I have a pretty good picture after that description...
