Such a great episode. I think I was always going to love this one the most as it's the first of them that the movie didn't cover, and it was definitely done justice.
As glad as I am that the teasing with Mother and Father is over and it has been confirmed that they are not the Baudelaire parents, it's kind of bittersweet because it's kind of like more hope has been taken away. That wouldn't be the case if we also knew their kids, of course, but we don't yet. |

Another least favorite guardian for me, Sir. Phil & Charles were the nice characters in this episode. There's something wrong with Klaus and it looks like he's being hypnotized by the eye doctor, Dr. Orwell who happens to have a secretary, Shirley, who is really Count Olaf in disguise.
I don't remember in the books that they mentioned if the Baudelaire parents were the reason why Paltryville went down in flames so I think that was an added bit on the show. The ending with the reveal that the "Mother" and "Father" that we are seeing is not the Baudelaire parents but the Quagmire parents (book 5) made me scream. I love the fake out. __________________

Yeah, you tell them, you tell them good Not out of the woods… QUAGMIRES! QUAGMIRES! QUAGMIRES! Oh there’s that chewing gum.. Rule of thumb, guys, random staff changes usually mean trouble “Shortcuts save time, take some.” I wouldn’t Sunny, this job was made for you Brainwashed much? Or.. hypnotized? That is a well-stocked library… There should only be three books in there… Oh Violet, love, it’ll be alright Hooky, hey Hooky! Oh snap there go the glasses… Don’t go, nope… Sugar, yeah! “I love it when you speak Spanish.” The sign is perfect! Well there he is! Partners? Always, darling. DAMN, GO MAMA B! The Table of Contents, good job! Well that’s just rude, damaging books! Girl, I’m sure they’re all like that… No, wait, I was wrong Well it’s gone now Verified Functional Dictionary “In every library, there is a single book that can answer the question that burns like a fire in the mind.” – Bertrand Baudelaire!
