| Hello all! John completed the transcript of Portraits this week, and has graciously offered to do Family Affairs as well. Also, Maysa, a fan from dear sally.org, has offered to help with the project. She will be transcribing Truth and Consequences. Any progress on the transcripts previously assigned? | O.k. so "The Force" is done, with a little help from some snippets that Erin sent to me, but I have some questions that I'd like some help with. Unfortunately we got slightly edited transmissions in the UK and I've found some bits that were edited out but there are still some queries I have and one or two lines (principally from Lynn) that I just cannot make out at all. So, answers to the following please. In chronological order through the episode. Query #1 Ben is on the phone to Aaron about the car and Lynn and Nicole come up. After Ben tells them what's going on Lynn says "You have the bum luck" Ben: Yes (laughs). Then Lynn says something else that I can't make out. Can anyone hear what he says? He then kisses Nicole and says "See you later" Query #2 In McGrath's seminar, Felicity has trouble answering a question and McGrath snaps at Elena and then asks another student to answer. What's this student's name? I think it is Mr Reyes, but can anyone confirm from the credits? Query #3 Lynn and Ben are in the library, Lynn is talking about "hot chicks". Then he says "I saw this girl crossing Broadway the other day ??? but she had legs up to my elbows!" What on earth does he say in the middle of this where the ??? are? Query #4 Nicole comes to the flat with some hot chocolate with which to seduce Ben... The scene got cut just after she started unzipping her top. She said "So you want me to stop?" and Ben said "Mm Yes" and then it was cut. I think if I remember correctly from reading somewhere, Sean came in, but can anyone finish off this scene for me? Query #5 Then we go to Felicity and Meghan in their room with Meghan tearing up the photograph. The end of this was cut because it has Meghan describing the spell as "kick-ass". The rest was in the part that Erin sent me, but is it all there? Meghan: Excuse me! This spell is gonna be so kick-ass! Felicity: Look, just don’t tell me what it is. Meghan: I won’t have to tell you. You’ll know. Query #6 The start of the next scene in D and D was also cut. Again, luckily it was in the parts that Erin sent me, but I need to know if it is all there. Is there anything before this part? It looks to me as if there should be. Felicity: What was that? Ben: Nothing. Felicity: I thought you liked Nicole. Ben: I did, I did. She’s just been sending me these signals that she’s interested in me. Felicity: What kind of signals? Ben: Well, uh, she, uh, kissed me. Felicity: What? Ben: Yeah, that was one signal, and then she came over last night. She took her clothes off, which was signal number two. Felicity: Oh, my God! Ben: Yeah, but nothing happened. Felicity: What did Julie say? She must have freaked. Ben: Well, I didn’t tell her. I think I have everything after this. Query #7 Ben and Lynn are in Sean's flat. Lynn is playing with the top of a bottle of water then he says something and I just can't figure out what it is. It sounds as if it ends with "thetic" perhaps sympathetic, pathetic? | Query #2 - You're right. The student's name is definitely Mr Reyes. Query #4 - You didn't miss much...Ben said: "Mmmm, yeah." and then Nicole took her clothes off and said "Okay". Then Sean came in and he said only one word: "Hello!". Query #5 - Yes. Their conversation ends with Meghan saying "I won't have to tell you. You'll know." Query #6 - The entire conversation is correct, except for one minor detail. Ben says "Well, uh, she...uh, she kissed me. " - basically, he says the word "she" twice. Everything else is correct. __________________ "Awwww…I like it when you get poudy in your ten-year-old face there. What is it with you early in the morning? You always look ten early. Pause. I mean, for a scene." | |||

| Query #1 Lynn says, "I'm going to the library." Then kisses Nicole. #7 Lynn can see that Ben is distracted & says, "Is everything copasetic?" Not sure if I spelled that word right. | Welcome back, Id! It's good to see you back on the forum. I'm glad Diana and Jann were of help to you. I'll have to watch the episode to answer any of the remaining queries. | Thanks Diana and 2Nickels for filling in those parts for me. I must admit, I've never heard of the word copasetic and none of the spell-checker, the Thesaurus on my PC or the large dictionary that I have in the office had it either. However google normally comes up trumps and it did so again. Copasetic is an alternative spelling of copacetic, the origin and meaning of which can be found here. There's also an interesting article on it here where the author notes that it's "rare to the point of invisibility outside North America" thus I refuse to feel inadequate in any way for never having heard of it [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]. So, all that's left now is query #3, the few words that come before "but she had legs up to my elbows" in Lynn's monologue about hot chicks. ETA - I think there might be another bit I'm missing. I've just seen a quote supposedly from The Force where Elena says "Old Guys are Hot!" That's nowhere in my transcript. Can anyone tell me where it comes? A pox on the edited transmissions we got here Erin - I'll send you the completed transcript, probably at the weekend. I also noticed that in the credits for the episode at Dear Sally, some of the actors are listed as "unknown" but if you check their names on IMDB their bios tell you which character they played. I'll update the credits with the transcript. Which episode is next on the list? True Colors (or to give it its proper title True Colours...) I can start another one [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]. | Id, "Old guyts are hot" I don't believe appears in our version either. I believe & everytime I have seen "The Force" (which is countless)it always sounds to me like Lynn is saying, "Bananas man, she had legs up to my frigging elbows." | Thanks for the info on that mystery quote, I wonder where that came from? As for the Lynn quote it sounded to me as if he was making a derogatory comment about some aspect of this girl's appearance which was counterbalanced by the last part but I may be completely wrong. Are you sure there's a "frigging" in there because if there is then that was edited out too! | |||
