I used to love this show when it was on, but alas it never shows up on television anymore. My favorite aspect of the show was the Belvedere/Wesley relationship, how they were at odds ... and yet there was a strong bond there. Wesley started out as a bratty little pip - squeak, whose battles with Belvedere were hilarious ... and over the seasons, grew into a mature young man that Belvedere was proud to know. He had the tightest bond with the butler than the rest of the family, perhaps because of just how he had grown over the years.

The most touching episodes to me were:

(1)Belvedere's Wedding - Wesley and Belvedere's goodbye (the most tearful one, because of how Wesley and Belvedere's relationship had changed over the years):

Wesley: You know I'm losing my best friend.
Mr. Belvedere: Wesley, I've known heads of state and many celebrities. But none of them have given me finer memories than you. I shall savor our moments together, even the embarassing and painful ones. But you count for most of them. Though you are an Owens, I shall always think of you as a son. (THEY HUG)

(2) The episode where Wesley sneaks out of the house and Mr. Belvedere goes looking for him ... only to get into a car accident. Wesley feels too guilty to go to the hospital, but ends up going and pleading with Mr. Belvedere to live. Mr. Belvedere's spirit watches and decides that he wants to stay.

Such a wonderful show!

Aww, I loved this show as a child! My favorite character was Wesley T. Owens. I'm still laughing over the rumors of Rob Stone being Marilyn Manson!

I forgot about the Marilyn Manson rumblings Too funny. Ol Rob was in one of my fave tv movies - Crash Course with Tina Yothers, Alyssa Milano, one of those Bloom brothers...

Mr Belvedere passed away a few years ago didn't he?

I'm just amazed that none of the kids have really been in anything these days.

How awful! It's so sad ...

It's also sad that the others - kids especially - haven't been in much since the show.

Here's a promo for the show. Here's an ad for a strange Mr. Belvedere Fun Kit. And a Saturday Night Live sketch with Tom Hanks about the Mr. Belvedere Fan Club.

I remember the one where Wesley sneaks out, and Mr. Belvedere runs out to get him. He ends up getting in an accident. They thought he might die. That was a sad ep.
