| The Worst Witch(1986) - "Mildred Hubble!!!" This is an appreciation thread for the "The Worst Witch", one of my favorite 80's holiday specials.  Made in Britain, but aired on HBO and Disney, this 1986 film starred Diana Rigg("The Avengers"), Tim Curry("The Rocky Horror Picture Show", "Clue"), Charlotte Rae("The Facts Of Life"), and Fairuza Balk("Return To Oz", "The Craft"). It told the tale of witch in training, Mildred Hubble(Balk), and how she can't seem to do anything right at Miss Cackles's Academy For Witches. Ms. Cackle(Rae) is a kindly woman, but teacher Miss Hardbroom(Rigg) always seems to be on Mildred's back. I loved this movie as a kid. | Not spooky. It was definitley a kid's movie thru and thru. It had some songs and singing in it too. Very british, but the lead girl was American. A great vibe for Halloween. | |||
