Believe it or not, this movie was being considered as a possible vehicle for Corey Feldman and Corey Haim. That was scrapped when they decided to make the lead characters older.

Also, the scene where Richard's dad comes out of the room in his underwear? That was the director.

To this day, that little moment makes me laugh. I am not sure why. Maybe it's just the casualness he does it by bringing his head up and the bang sound as Bernie's head hits the railing.

This would be another good one to watch today. I believe it was released on the 5th. There was even a promo on TV I saw that had a 4th of July theme. It had Bernie slumped in his chair with fireworks going on.
