I really think this is one of John Hughes' most underrated and overlooked movies. I think it's a real good movie. Quite possibly John Candy's best role.

How cool was the scene where Buck goes to school in his long coat, hat, shades, cigar, and the music playing?!. Seeing it now, 14 years after Candy's passing, you kind of want to stand up and cheer when you see it.

I have the dvd too, and I just like how Buck puts his teenage niece in her place, gosh she was mean and rude.

I just looked up Uncle Buck on imdb and I had no idea that the mean daughter, Tia, is the actress who played the mom on the sitcom "Yes, Dear". I've always kinda wondered what happened to Tia and here I had seen her on this show all this time. Did anybody else know that was her?. I had no idea at all that was her. Lol.

Yes, Dear I think started im the late 90's/early 2000's. It's not very old at all.

She is also quite successful and active in theater too
