I am not too crazy in remaking the classic animated movies into live action films, really, but this one gets my attention. If Tom is on board, then I am.

In a recently unearthed interview, Johnny Depp said he fully believed Tim Burton was going to replace him with Tom Hanks in "Edward Scissorhands".

glad things stayed the way they are now, that would have been interesting. I"m glad Hanks went the dramatic route, though. A movie like that likely wouldn't have spawned Philadelphia or Forrest Gump.

This certainly wouldn't have damaged Tom's career - I mean, Edward Scissorhands is a poignant / well-made movie, and really showcased Johnny's projection of his real-life vulnerability. That said, I can't really picture Tom playing that role with the same haunting presence as Johnny did. Johnny had a loneliness in his eyes that was really impressive to observe.

Tom has proved, however, that the can do both comedy and drama. The 80's movie BIG demanded a fair level of both traits from him.

It was also just released on 4K! Sad movie, though. That and Schindler's List just were released on 4K. Happy Holidays
