For those of you who grew up in the 80's....

I'm doing a project on the 1980's for US history and I can't seem to find information about problems in society or 2 inventions. I found a website, but it's not too good. I was wondering if some of you could help me out a little? I would love you FOREVER!!

Problems in society in the 80's? Well, drugs was one of them. Former First Lady Nancy Reagan did the whole "Just Say No" campaign that was huge in the 80's. You just couldn't get away from that slogan. Another problem was AIDS, which just started surfacing in the public's attention. Up until then, society was too afraid to talk about it, but the 80's is when the issue really started getting some attention.

Yes, I've seen that website I used it for some information already, but some of it isn't the same info as some others I've found, so I don't know who's is more accurate.

What was with President Reagan and the drugs again?

Well, I remember the entire decade I am no expert on US history (since I am not American).

What about the cold war? Is that something you could use?

Just Google "Nancy Reagan and Just Say No" and you'll see what I mean.

The Cold War wasn't a societal problem. It was a geo-political issue between the two world super powers. Societal problems are things like racism, drugs, poverty, etc.
