Supergirl (1984) - You'll believe a girl can fly!
 This 1984 film finds Superman's cousin Kara (Helen Slater) traveling to earth, becoming Supergirl and trying to find a powerful orb that has fallen in the hands of a powerful witch. At the same time, she is in disguise as a college girl.  Trailer: The movie co-stars Faye Dunaway, Peter 'O' Toole, Mia Farrow and Marc McClure, Jimmy Olsen from the "Superman" film series.    __________________

Helen Slater really fit the part, she's very close to the what Supergirl was like in the comics at that time.

It's cool because Helen Slater has a recurring role on the new "Supergirl" series as Kara's earth mother. Dean Cain is her husband!

Christopher Reeve was going to make a cameo in the film but bowed out right before filming began because of scheduling. A picture of him does appear in the movie though.

I vaguely remember the picture. I think it was a poster of Superman on someone's wall and they stopped to admire him. It would have been awesome of Reeve would have had the time to do a cameo.
