The Stepfather(1987) - "Make Room For Daddy!!"

This 1987 cult classic starred Terry 'o' Quinn("Lost") as a murderous psychopath looking for the perfect family. He worms his way into a single mother with child's life and marries. However, if the new family comes up short in his expectations, they better watch out!.

I haven't seen this. My parents wouldn't have let me see it back then. I will have to check it out.

This is a pretty good horror movie. The remake looks interesting but I know cant beat the original.

Melis -It's a really top notch, quality thriller. Not a slasher film really.

Rainstorm Jenny -The re-make might be fun, but it's PG-13, so it will be a bit softer, like the Prom Night re-make, which was raked over the coals by fans and critics.

Terry is usually quiet about this one for some reason. It's a great, well done, sophisticated thriller and he was brilliant in it. The sequel, however, moved more into typical slasher territory. I can see him being embarrased by that, but not original. I've actually never seen Lost.

The Prom Night remake shouldn't even be called a remake. It's different and just seems to share the title and nothing else. It's really a shame. The whole idea of Prom Night is a great setting for a fun, cool slasher, but they went a whole other way with this one. It's terrible. I hate it when studios try to make something different and try to water it down and make it PG-13 in order to get more kids into the theater. Being R has never stopped horror films from being successful!!!.

I'll put this on my list of movies to see. I doubt I'd find it a rental store, though.

You should be able to find it. Especially with this new release coming out.

I'll look. My Blockbuster doesn't really keep a good stock of 80s movies. I usually just buy DVDs because the video rental places around here suck.

Yeah maybe Best buy will have it on sale too for cheap, they usually do in my location when a remake is coming out. That or Walmart could have it for 5 bucks, thats a good deal.

I do a lot of online shopping. I'm planning to make a big order this week when the deepdiscount sale starts.

This is still a very skilled, polished, underrated thriller. Love this one.

Added new picture to main post.
