The 80s - Splash(1984) - "She's A Fish"

From 1984, here is an appreciation thread for Ron Howard's Splash

Tom Hanks stars as a man who is saved from drowning by a beautiful mermaid(Daryl Hannah). When she discovers his wallet in the water, she travels to New York City to find him, where the two begin a romance, but with a scientist hot on her heels.

The movie also stars John Candy, and fellow SCTV alum, Eugene Levy.

I watched this movie so many times when I was a kid. Great movie. I especially loved Hanks' loony, old secretary, who kept telling him his father called, even though he and Candy always remind her that their father is dead. Lol.

I've seen this movie a million times and I can't believe how long ago it came out! I wasn't even born in the 80s, so this movie is the best one I know of. Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah's performances are brilliant!!! I own this movie on DVD and it's great as ever!

Hi Michelle and welcome!. Yes, it came out some time ago. Definitley one I remember very fondly. Can't remember how many times I watched it as a kid, but it was a lot!. Lol.

We use to have a thread for this movie but im guessing it got lost awhile back when FF crashed.

I like this movie, its really cute.

Really?. I made this one back in July. I don't remember seeing a thread for it. Back then I went thru every page before I made a thread. Lol. I don't know why I just didn't use the guide!!.

It's a good one. I loved Tom in this period of time. I mean I love Tom period, but especially this era. He was great and so was John Candy.

This was awhile back like in 07 or even sooner then that. We lost a bunch of threads because of the crash that happened awhile back. Im glad you remade it though.
