In an earlier version of the script, Keith proposed to Watts at the end. This also mentioned Watts' first name as being Susan.
Molly Ringwald was offered the Amanda Jones role and she turned it down. __________________

Yeah, very true. She also said I think that she didn't want to get typecast in the roles she played for John Hughes (he wrote this too) so I can see where she's coming from. Lea Thompson did great in this as Amanda in my opinion.
