| Sixteen Candles appreciation: We all loved "Farmer Ted" Imdb Link Samantha's life is going downhill fast. The fifteen-year-old has a crush on the most popular boy in school, and the geekiest boy in school has a crush on her. Her sister's getting married, and with all the excitement the rest of her family forgets her birthday! Add all this to a pair of horrendously embarrassing grandparents, a foreign exchange student named Long Duc Dong, and we have the makings of a hilarious journey into young womanhood. | I loved this movie! did anyone see that A to Z thing on VH1? I found out so many things that didn't know......the cake at the end of the movie was cardboard! I always assumed it was real cake....hmmm. | I saw this movie for the first time in March and I fell in love. Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall were so cute in it. They played off each other really well. And a young John Cusack was in it too! But, of course, there's the yummy Jake Ryan. Oh man. In March, I was a high school senior and I had a crush on this guy who was a sophomore, and even though it was totally reversed, I called him my Jake Ryan. [sighs] Wish it'd worked out... | Yay! A "Sixteen Candles" Appreciation thread - I love this movie and I love Sam and Jake together.  I think I am going to put this movie and watch it, it has been quite sometime since I have seen this movie.Jake: "Happy Birthday Samantha, make a wish". Sam: "It already came true". I love that scene and the quote!! | |||
