In "Psycho II" (1983), Norman Bates returns to his home and motel after over 20 years in a mental institution. Despite a new job and a new friend, "Mother" comes back to Norman and helps to unleash his homicidal tendencies once again. In "Psycho III" (1986), Norman befriends a runaway nun who begins to remind him of someone in the past. Can she help him or will his demons come out once again?

A made for TV movie called "Bates Motel" aired in 1987 without Anthony Perkins. It was completely discarded for the 4th and final film in the original franchise, "Psycho IV: The Beginning", in 1990.

In one scene in Part II, you can see the silhouette of Alfred Hitchcock on the wall when Mary and Norman go into Mother's room.

Yes, it was a little wink to the audience. I will try to find a picture of it.

Yes it was done as an homage to Hitchcock who had passed away by this time. He always made a cameo in his films and the silhouette was a nod to that!
