Private School (1983) - You won't believe what goes on and what comes off!

Christine Ramsey (Phoebe Cates) is a student at Cherryvale School For Girls. Her boyfriend Jim (Matthew Modine) goes to a nearby all boys school. Everything is going great until Christine's rival Jordan (Betsy Russell) sets out on a campaign to claim Jim for herself.

Ray Walston also appears in the movie.

Looks like a good movie.

It's a cute, fun movie. Kind of forgotten, but it has it's cult following.

Melis 03-18-2015 09:58 AM

I recognize some of the cast.

Barrybgb 03-18-2015 03:46 PM

Yeah, Phoebe, Matthew and Ray of course. Fran Ryan, who is the house mother, is one of those character actresses you've seen a lot back in the day.

Oh! I forgot. Martin Mull has a small cameo in the movie too.

Melis 03-18-2015 05:56 PM

Cool about Martin.

He works at the drug store where Matthew is too embarrassed to buy condoms. Lol.

I wonder if this is on DVD?

Barrybgb 03-19-2015 10:30 AM

It is. I have it. :)

Melis 03-19-2015 01:50 PM

lol, Barry. I want to see it.

The fondest memory I have is when my dad took us to a drive-in double bill of this movie with Bachelor Party in '84. We were out in the "valley" and he just decided to pull in with me and my mom. I was 5 years old and going to a double bill of raunchy R rated comedies at the drive in! Lol. I don't think my mom was too happy.

Melis 03-20-2015 01:05 PM

lol! So funny. I wish we still had drive ins.

Barrybgb 03-21-2015 02:57 PM

Me too. I won't forget that particular trip! Lol.

Melis 03-21-2015 03:23 PM

Very memorable for you.

I forgot to mention that Phoebe sings the end credits song too.
