Well, the names do change by years. So one name can be popular in one year and bumped in another year. Boy names don't change since dad's name their sons after them. Didn't we talk about this on another thread?

Yeah we did in the introduction thread And yes they do change by years. I know my name starts going down the list as the years go on.

Yeah, girl names seem to fizzle off after a while. I know mine name died out, too. Plus, I'd never name my daughter Melissa.

I guess guys don't mind when they have the same name as everyone else.

ahh i wish the opposite i wish i had a common name.

looking at the list alot of them are common names...much unlike these days where there are so many unique names that its getting harder to find people with the same name.

The old-fashioned names are coming back. Elizabeth, Hannah, and others are becoming popular girl names.

Unique names can be hard, too. Kids tease the ones with different names.

I think there are some of those names that are dated- you can defintiely put a decade of around that name was used/popular/trendy. Such as ten years from now, if I were to here an Emma, Madison, Brooklyn, Braelyn, Jaden, Aiden, Caden I would assume that they were born in the 00's.

To me, a lot of girl names are dated for the 80s:
Amber
Tiffany
Ashley
Brittany
Kimberly

But guy names are harder to date for me, I mean most names back in the 80s were pretty common, and still are to this day.

My cousin was probably born around the time Tiffany the singer was popular.

Yeah, we discussed how boy's name don't die out. Men name their sons after them, so you always have the same male names.

Yeah, that's why it's so much harder for me to like guy names than girl names. I have a huge list of girl names that I love, but my boys list is so much smaller...

it must of been the names ending in y that seemed to get popular because so many on the list end with that letter.
