It's a road trip comedy from the genius that is John Hughes. Steve Martin plays a guy who is trying to get back home for Thanksgiving. Along the way, he runs into John Candy, and the usual bad luck, chaos in just trying to get home.

I didn't really think much of this one at first, but I have grown to love it over the years. It's a real good movie that is vastly underrated and unfairly maligned by a lot of critics. No, it's not a great movie, but it's funny, has it's moments, and the two stars really shine. The ending is just touching and heart warming. John Hughes/Chicago/Holidays = good times in my opinion. Lol.

My favorite part is when Neal(Martin)goes to rent a car and he is fed up!!. The profanity lace tirade he goes on on the poor car rental lady is priceless.

There is a lot of comedy, but it's also very heartfelt and kind of serious in places.

I guess the most famous scene from the movie is when they both wake up holding each other in bed and they realize that Candy's hand isn't where it should be!. Lol.

I still love this movie. The best adult John Hughes movie?.

Steve Martin's rant at the car rental place is just gold!.

I've learned that the deleted scene is just 1 scene. What a bummer. I've heard from Hughes himself that there is a 3 hour cut of the film. Would love to see that!.

One of the more famous scenes of the movie :

YouTube - Those aren't pillows.

I would love to link my favorite part, Steve Martin's tirade at the car rental, but there is language and I don't know if that's permitted here. Lol.

Oh gosh, this is one to get. Classic comedy, but with real heart and emotion as well. I think this is John Hughes' best "Adult" film.
