Parenthood Appreciation Thread #1: It can happen to YOU!

Special Edition DVD.

I'm not going to go into why I think this movie is fantastic because it would take much too long. But the cast makes this movie.

Rick Moranis had a terrific part. I loved seeing his transformation throughout the movie.

I didn't know it was based on the movie. I just thought it had the same title.

Well, it's based on the general idea and theme, but they aren't the same characters as in the movie. Ron Howard and the movie's writers are producers as well.

I'm 3 episodes in and I am loving it. Good writing, solid cast, etc. It's refreshing, actually. It's not a procedural, medical drama, lawyer, or reality show. Just a family show with drama and comedy, like the movie.

I have seen some of the eps, but I usually have a time conflict. So far, there's more drama than comedy. I prefer dramedy instead of straight drama.

I have enough problems of my own, so it's not fun to watch everyone else's. haah

The pilot didn't have the right balance like the movie. It was definitley more dramatic than I thought it would be. I thought it got better in the 2 episodes after. I haven't seen the last 3 eps or so, so maybe it's changed again. Lol. I do like it tho. I got my mom hooked on it too, but she's always leary of getting attached anymore. She likes a show and it gets canceled. Lol.

I definitely think it has improved. I agree about the pilot, though. I found it hard to follow. It's still not really fun to watch. If I'm having a bad day, I won't watch. lol

Yeah, I know how your mom feels.

Of course, it is NBC. They also renewed Southland for a 2nd season, and then they canceled it.
