I like the movie but I love the book, ever since I first read it in middle school.

Favorite character in the book was Pony Boy but in the movie it was Dally. I think it had a lot to do with Matt Dillon, I just loved him in it.

Did you know that S.E. Hinton had a cameo in the movie? Watch I think the scene where Johnny Boy first comes into the hospital, she's the nurse on the right.

I loved the book, the movie was good, but the book was better!

I haven't read the book. Yet, that is. I want to read it someday.

I wasn't aware of the cameo, I must look out for it next time I see the movie.

I think SE Hinton is in every one of the movies that are based on her books. There was a website that I used to visit where she answers questions and that was on there. I think it is cool.

Loved the book and the movie! I actually order an Outsiders magazine. It was some special addition from one of the teeny bop magazines lol.

I was obcessed with this movie when I first saw it. (I saw it many years later). I was born in 84, so I actually saw it in the 90s.

I was obcessed with Matt Dillion after seeing this movie. Obcessed!

I have the DVD, but yay to a special one coming out.

Yeah the book was a lil better. But i did like the actors they had for characters and that made the movie a lil more interesting.

This is sooo funny! I just posted on the "I remember" thread about the Outsiders and then I slide down and Boo-yah! Here it is... guess I better post my little arse off,eh??

First, I saw the movie and Loved it! (Of course I had a HUGE crush on Rob Lowe *cough*Youngblood*cough*)
Then I read the book. Someone mentioned that they liked reading the book second because they visualized the movie characters/scenes etc. I agree.

My fave character was SodaPop... but in the book I really loved Dally too!

I am glad to know that my friends and I were not the only ones saying "stay gold". LOL

This movie was a bad influence on me in 1 way... I totally thought it was cool to smoke and stay out all night! Yep, I was a pre teen w/no parental supervison! Amazingly though, I still got all A's! So, I guess I was most like Ponyboy. A brain stuck in hell. I just wanted to be tough.

OK... so I will tell the truth... I ran out and bought a Mickey Mouse shirt after the Outsiders... and I tried to start writing poems. (I wasn't very good though!)

How about y'all???

Great quotes from The Outsiders...

Shoot, this house ain't dirty. You ought to see my house.

Imagine a small ,dark puppy who has been kicked too many times and you have Johnny.

The obligatory Stay Gold Ponyboy...

What's yours?
