This 1986 comedy is the second teaming of John Cusack and director "Savage" Steve Holland after "Better Off Dead". Cusack stars as Hoops McCann, a budding cartoonist, who goes to Martha's Vineyard with a friend after graduation. There, he meets up with more oddball characters and a beautiful young woman (Demi Moore), who he and his friends try to help by winning a yacht race to save her grandfather's house.

Like "Better Off Dead", the movie is quirky and filled with some moments of animation.

LOL saw this one while scrolling through the list of 80s threads. I thought I was the only person that ever actually saw this movie! Hee. I think it's hilarious. I wish Netflix would stream it so I could watch it again. I videotaped it years ago but don't have a VCR to play it on anymore.

Hi Taryn! Yeah, it's a little obscure, but definitely has a cult following. I remember seeing it on HBO a lot back in the day. Hope you can see it again somehow.

omg I've lost count how many times I saw this movie. One of my favs one summer ... back in the VCR days Yes, it's cheezy and the acting isn't always to par, but it was just a silly movie that let you get out of your head. I loved it and still laugh when I see it
