i took my nieces to see the play of Annie last night. they loved it. ella feel asleep half way through though. it was a long play though and it started late.

I have seen a few plays but not kid type ones.

I used to go with my mom to see several musicals a year, but we stopped, and I miss it.

I like stage versions but I also tend to like the movie version.

A few plays I went too were in this resort town 30 miles from here. John Travolta's sister, Ellen, lives there and is in one every summer. We saw her there in "Mame". John and his wife were there. I also saw Patty Duke here in "Gypsy". A few others.

"Mame" was about a rich and eccentric aunt in the depression/world war II era whose nephew comes to live with her. "Gypsy" is based on the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, a famous striptease artist, and focuses on her mother and her raising her two daughters and the hardships of show business life. I have also seen "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and "Man of La Mancha".

Oh, I have. At one of those plays, Ellen Travolta turned around and walked right into me. She grabbed me by the shoulders and apologized profusely. I told her it was an honor. Lol.

I wish I had anyone like that. I love musicals and seemingly everyone I know hates them.

yes i loved it. everyone sounded incredible. i love plays/musicals. i wish i could go more often. im actually taking my nieces (as a surprise) next month to see BATB. i hope they like the play version of that too. a friend of my sisters saw it and said it was really good.

matt if you lived closer i would totally go with you anytime you wanted. i have that same problem.

Ditto to that! We have some good stuff coming here but no one wants to go. Love Never Dies (Phantom sequel) is coming here and i'm so pumped...and my wife hates it so much because she loves Raoul and he's a dbag in that.
