not sure what changed, other than people ran out of good ideas for good movies these days but the whole experience seemed to be different these days

It's also a lot more expensive to go to the movies these days. Lol. It was just a different experience. A number of reasons. They don't make them like they used to make them, you were younger and more wowed/interested in things, less interesting movies, etc....

Agreed. Going to the movies used to be a religious experience. Now it's like.....a chore.

It isn't a chore for me since I go once a year. Lol. I still enjoy seeing certain movies in the theater but those are rare.
