The 80s - Night of the Creeps #3 - "What I'm going to need is your standard flame thrower."

"Night of the Creeps" is a loving homage to B movies of the 50's. A bunch of alien slugs come to earth and inhabit humans, which turns them into walking zombies. They overtake a college campus and it's up to a few students and a hardboiled detective to stop them.

The movie stars genre fave Tom Atkins ("The Fog", "Halloween III", "Creepshow", "Escape From New York", "Lethal Weapon"), Jason Lively (Rusty from "European Vacation") and another genre fave, Dick Miller.

Okay, I wasn't sure if you did or not. Anyways, that was a great moment. She was just watching TV until she started hearing a pounding coming from under the floor and then....boom! The skeletal figure with an ax comes smashing up through the floor.

I love how the movie opens in black and white during the 50's scenes. The credits were going at the time in cool colors and the contrast popped and was just cool.

I can't remember if I already share this, but the characters in this movie have the last names of famous horror directors. The lead characters are Chris Romero (George Romero), Cynthia Cronenberg (David Cronenberg), and Chris' friend J.C. (John Carpenter), whose full name was James Carpenter Hooper (Tobe Hooper). There were other names in there as well.
