Released in 1988, the movie is an origin story of the character. When her father is seemingly washed away at sea, Pippi (known for incredible strength) takes up residence in the family home, where she befriends two kids who venture inside thinking it's haunted. The kids have fun together on various adventures, the biggest being trying not to be taken to the orphanage and fighting crooks.
