"The Naked Gun" was a movie spin-off of the short lived 1982 series "Police Squad". It was released in December of 1988 and was a box office hit. It starred the returning Leslie Nielsen as Lt. Frank Drebin, who tries to stop an assassin from killing the Queen of England upon her visit to L.A. The movie also starred Priscilla Presley, George Kennedy, Ricardo Montalban, and some guy named O.J. 2 sequels followed in 1991 and 1994.

It was. Saw this in the theater. Thought it was the funniest thing I had ever seen, which it was. Still is one of the best, funniest movies ever.

I loved the scene where he went to the bathroom after a press conference and he still had his microphone on. As the mayor talked, you can hear him going to the bathroom. Lol.
