Very late '80s, but the video for Faith No More's "Epic" sparked some controversy with the fish, did it not? I just saw it, and thought it was the weirdest thing ever!

And was Devo's "Whip It" in the 80s or do I have my eras confused? Because that video rocks.

I think that Devo's Whip It was released in 1980. If I'm wrong, I hope someone will correct me.

Yep, 1980 for Devo. I still remember the red hats!

I remember how fascinated I was about Take On Me. It took thousands of individual drawings for them to create the video. I was so sad in the end when he was getting slammed against the wall.

Anyone else get a Madonna vibe from the girl that was in his video? She was actually Morten Harket's (lead singer) ex girlfriend.

Hungry Like the Wolf - Duran Duran. Classic.

Yeah, I adored the Take On Me video. I still think it has a very 'fresh' feeling about it. I think I heard that she was his girlfriend at the time way back when.

Were they as popular in Sweden? I'm thinking they had a strong following in Scandinavian countries. We only got the one album in America, as I remember.

While Take On Me is my favorite video, but my favorite A-ha song is The Sun Always Shines on TV!

Yeah, they were absolutely huge in Sweden. You're right about A-ha being "big in Japan" (couldn't resist the Alphaville reference ) in Scandinavia. I think my favourite was the title track Hunting High and Low. Loved that video too.

I remember that song! I don't think I've ever seen the video, though.

And since you mentioned Alphaville - Forever Young, anyone? I couldn't get enough of it! I just loved the words!

I love most 80's musics, like Madonna, Kylie, and a few other bands/singers too, I can't think of them now

I've just discovered this board and I must say I'm obsessed with 80s pop right now.

And Launch.com.

So let's say:

"Take On Me" by A-Ha (one of my favourites...EVER)
"Like A Surgeon" by Weird Al (I assume that's 80s?) - cracked me up insanely!
"Money for Nothing" - Dire Straits

Oh, and if anybody can tell me if there's / link me to "In A Big Country" by Big Country.

A-Ha were actually from Norway.

I liked the Take On Me video but preferred listening to Hunting High & Low (the single not the album).

I don't really have an absolute favorite video from the 80s, but some that stick in my mind are:

Money For Nothing - Dire Straits (cool song, cool vid)
Hysteria - Def Leppard (I really miss Steve Clark...RIP )
Wild Boys - Duran Duran (I've been a Duranie for 23 years and although I liked Nick best, Simon looked really hot in that video )
Purple Rain - Prince (this song is really beautiful and I just love watching Prince sing it in the movie/video)
Patience - Guns N' Roses (nice to see the boys relaxed and Axl not screaming the lyrics. Also like watching Slash playing with his pet python, Clyde)

That's all I can think of at the moment. I might add some more later...

Jennifer - I adore all the movies you mentioned. I'm a huge Def Leppard fan, and was so upset when Steve Clark died.

Pretty sure it's fires the mountainside... *cough*

And I have the Big Country Book Of Lyrics! on my computer, so not lyrics. I'm looking for a music video. I must see my wonderful Big Country in action.
