| From imdb.com Kate & Allie (1984-1989) Plot Summary: When Allie Lowell (Jane Curtin) divorces her husband and gets custody of their two children, she moves to New York City and moves in with her best friend, Kate McArdle (Susan Saint James), also divorced and raising a daughter. The form a unique kind of family unit in this comedy from the 1980s. __________________ Family Ties Seasons 1-5 on dvd! ![]() | |||

| Awww, I loved Kate and Allie! It was a nice, positive show about an "untraditional" family. ![]() __________________ The songs are in your eyes I see them when you smile I've had enough I'm not giving up on a Miracle Drug | |||

| Which one was Ari again? lol Growing up watching this show, I never thought it would later be put on lists (along with "My Two Dads") suggesting gay undertones with the parents that couldn't be outright stated. I wonder what I would think today. Probably people reading too much into things, lol. If you think about it, it's a really good premise for a show. Kind of like "The Odd Couple" + kids. __________________ "It is a theme party at Steve's fraternity." | |||

![]() ![]() I never heard the gay thing. As usual, I think people are just reading too much into it. I never saw it or thought about it. | For some reason, the other sister stuck with me way more. And, if I remember right, she was the one with the little brother. __________________ "It is a theme party at Steve's fraternity." | |||

| Ari Meyers caught my attention early. The blond one at first was uninteresting, but she was a late bloomer, she was better later on the series Last edited by Citrus Hill; 04-27-2010 at 10:12 AM. | |||

| Newbie needs HELP from Kate and Allie Fans 60ish Newbie here with limited computer skills, but catching up fast! I've just learned that you can watch old TV episodes online. One of my favorites was an episode of Kate and Allie that my late husband taped for me years ago and is now lost. But the tape is lost and I'd LOVE to find this episode again. I have no idea what it was titled or what year it was broadcast as we caught it by chance in re-runs. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate the help. This is what I remember of the situation: The girls are fighting and not speaking-lots of slamming about-the mothers are trying to coach the girls into making up, but get dragged into their own conflict so that none of the females are speaking and they're all slamming about-Chip and his slightly-challenged friend Louis are downstairs minding their business, but witnessing the warfare. Louis has to go to the bathroom and pauses to consider the door - and then predictably slams it. I consider it one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. My husband would play it when we were entertaining other couples as a kind of "gender experiment". Reliably, the women would be intensely interested, anticipating the inevitable as the tension built, and were able to predict the inevitable outcome ten minutes before it arrived and found it repeatedly hysterical. The men were generally uninterested, and couldn't quite get why the women thought it was such a scream. Very interesting experiment that held up well couple after couple. I've been thru episode lists with summaries and cannot find anything that matches. Please HELP !!! | |||
