Just the Ten of Us - The Growing Pains Spinoff

Just the Ten of Us

Plot
It all began on April 20, 1988, during an episode of Growing Pains entitled "How the West Was Won". When Mike Seaver's favorite teacher, Coach Lubbock, loses his job, Mike and Boner discover that the coach has nine mouths to support. So what happens? Coach Lubbock uproots his family and moves them to Eureka, California, where he becomes the coach at St Augustine's Academy, a Catholic school. The twist? It's an all-boys school, and he has five daughters to enroll. Sexcapades abound, but a lesson is always learned. - TV.com

One of my favorite tv shows, of course I grew up on the re-runs. I wished TV Land still showed them, for a while they was but when I started enjoying watching the episodes again it was taken off. I hate when a channel does that.

Anyways my favorite daughters on the show were Cindy and Wendy. Cindy I always liked to watch Jamie Luner on Melrose Place. Wendy had a slight edge about her. I find this show is very under rated and needs to be put on DVD.

Oh me too. It's so frustrating especially when you're trying to record the episodes. I wish I had some of these saved.

I, too, liked Wendy and Cindy.

I used to tape this...those tapes are all gone now. I was a huge fan of Heather Langenkamp back then.

I loved Connie. She was very caustic and witty.

Cute pic Kimber.

Kelly, this isn't news. It's an 80's show. It starred the Coach Lubbock character and his family.

No. Connie is the one in the picture above who has her arm around her dad. She was sort of stuck in the middle of the kids in terms of age - she was younger than Marie, Cindy, and Wendy, but several years older than Sherry, J.R., and the babies. Connie was smart, but not nerdy like Marie. She was snarky. I loved that about her. She was sort of like Darlene from Roseanne, but not as sardonic.

Oh I remember now. I remember her being sarcastic.

My memory of this show is fading, though.

^ Yeah, I remember only a handful of episodes. They were fun, though.

Matthew Perry was on episode, right? He played a good guy that they brought home to their father. They used him, so they could go out with another guy.

Yes, he was Wendy's fake date. Coach Lubbock always subjected the girls' dates to the Dinner Test. I remember the scene at the dinner table where Coach was serving everyone their chicken and he said to Matthew "Breast or thigh?" to try to embarass him. Matthew smiled and said "Wing". He passed that test.

Matt LeBlanc from Friends also appeared in a few episodes. He was the school quarterback who had a crush on Wendy.
