I've got some GOOD NEWS!!.

You might remember a while back that I posted that some fans made a documentary titled "Don't You Forget About Me", in which they were searching for John Hughes and had a road trip thru the suburbs of Chicago, visiting filming spots, and speaking with actors in his films. Well, a company in Canada(where the filmmakers are from), have picked up the worldwide rights to the film!!.

Alliance Picks Up Rights To John Hughes Documentary DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME!! -- Ain't It Cool News: The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news.

Want to see the trailer for the docu?. Click here. It's at the bottom.

Also, follow all the breaking news, info, and film clips at the filmmaker's blog, which is filled with some really interesting stuff :

It'd be interesting to see their take on John Hughes and his work.

It would. Sadly, Molly Ringwald "refused" to do it. They said she and Matthew Broderick were "impossible to convince".

Also, they interviewed Justin Henry, who played the little brother in "Sixteen Candles". They said it was a good interview and he was well spoken. Then, they got to the "John hasn't directed a movie since 1991" bit and they said he immediatley got uncomfortable, started fidgeting, and kept saying "I'm not going to go there". I saw the clip of it. It was....weird. The mystery of John Hughes continues!!...

News on the John Hughes Doc :

The JH documentary was released in Canada, but a date in the U.S. has yet to be announced or even made. However, you will get to see it this Christmas!....if you have Encore :

Christmas weekend, Encore will be having an 80s blowout with 80s films and a look at John Hughes, with the Hughes documentary "Don't You Forget About Me" kickstarting the festivities.

Here is the DVD cover in Canada. I am sure it will be the same for the U.S. :

I want to see it, but I am debating if I should watch it when it premieres on TV or wait for the DVD. Some of the excitement would be gone if I saw it before I got the DVD. Lol. I might wait. Anyways, a few reviews have come in for the doc and they have been very positive.
