Thread #5 for writer/director/producer, John Hughes. The man personified the 80s and practically made the teen movie genre. Hughes wrote and directed "Sixteen Candles" in 1984, "The Breakfast Club" and "Weird Science" in 1985 and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" in 1986. He also wrote and produced "Pretty In Pink" in 1986 and "Some Kind of WOnderful" in 1987.

Hughes also wrote and directed "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" in 1987 and "Uncle Buck" in 1989. Hughes wrote "Mr. Mom" and "National Lampoon's Day Off" in 1983, "The Great Outdoors" in 1988 and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" in 1989.

John continued into the 90s writing "Home Alone 1-3", "Dennis The Menace", "Dutch", "Miracle On 34th Street" and writing/directing "Curly Sue" among others.

It does work.

John wanted to do something else with teen movie. He said at the time they were mostly movies with nudity and boys ogling girls (although I wholeheartedly approve of those movies). :)

Haha! I like that John brought us so many great teen movies.

Not as many good adult movies haha

Oh well. I love what we got.

Well, there was Vacation & Christmas Vacation, Mr. Mom, Uncle Buck, Planes Trains & Automobiles, The Great Outdoors, etc. I liked Dutch as well. He didn't direct all of them but he wrote them.

I watched all those with my family when I was a boy, haha.

I watched all of them when they came out because I am old. Lol. Well, I was a little bitty boy.
