John Hughes was a genius. A writer/director/producer who made one of the biggest marks inthe 80s, in movies, and in teen cinema. John wrote and directed "Sixteen Candles", "The Breakfast Club" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". He also wrote and produced "Pretty In Pink" and "Some Kind Of Wonderful".

His others 80s works include Mr. Mom (Writer), Class Reunion (Writer), National Lampoon's Vacation (Writer), Planes, Trains & Automobiles (Writer, Director), Uncle Buck (Writer, Director), The Great Outdoors (Writer), She's Having A Baby (Writer, Director) and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Writer).

He was very prolific. He knocked out scripts for some of his most famous movies in a weekend. Not only that, but they were so perfect, very little was changed when it came to filming the script. That's rare.
