It was great when TOD came out. 1984 was the best. I know I have said it before, but we saw it at least 5 times in the theaters. It didn't get as much love from the critics or even from Spielberg himself. Both he and Lucas were going through divorces and it was dark times. The movie itself was a lot darker and more violent than "Raiders".

Me and my dad were just enthralled with it. We thought it was one of the greatest thing ever. It is just loads of fun. It was the epitome of an 80's popcorn summer blockbuster to me. So much of the sights and sounds of the movie are a part of my childhood.
