Huey Lewis And The News - Because They Got The Heart Of Rock And Roll!
Huey Lewis And The News burst onto the music scene in 1981, and soon racked up two hit songs with "Do You Believe In Love?" and "Workin' For A Livin'". They had the biggest success with their 1983 album, "Sports". The album spawned 5 hit singles, "The Heart Of Rock And Roll", "If This Is It", "I Want A New Drug", "Heart And Soul", and "Walking On A Thin Line". The Heart Of Rock And Roll : YouTube - Huey Lewis & The News - Heart Of Rock 'n' Roll (Remastered Audio) In 1985, the band had two more big hits off of the "Back To The Future" soundtrack, "The Power Of Love", and "Back In Time". The Power Of Love : YouTube - Huey Lewis & the News - The Power of Love (6 minute ver.) The band returned in 1987 with the album "Fore", which spawned 4 more huge hit singles : "Hip To Be Square", "Doing It All For My Baby", "Stuck With You", and "Jacob's Ladder". Hip To Be Square : YouTube - Hip to be Square - Huey Lewis and The News The band ended the 80s with "Perfect World", which included the hit title track, as well as "Small World". The band continued and had a couple of minor hits in the early 90s with "It Hit Me Like A Hammer" and "Couple Days Off", as well as releasing an album of 60s pop hits in the mid 90s, which yielded a number of hits on the AC charts. Huey had a big hit in the early 00's with Gwyneth Paltrow, a re-working of the Smokey Robinson classic, "Cruisin'". He also recorded the title track to the Seth Rogen/James Franco comedy, "The Pineapple Express". __________________

They have so many songs that are sing-a-long worthy. So much fun. Gonna look for their Greatest Hits CD today.

Lol. I love the sort of doo-wop pop they have in some of their songs like "This Is It". "Hip To Be Square" is always fun. They released an album in the mid 90s called "Four Chords And Several Years Ago" that was a collection of 50s and 60s songs. It was really good too. Really faithful.
