The movie also made A LOT less money than the original. The original did $130 million and so in 1989. 'Baby' did about $55 in 1992. I guess maybe this is why the third one was a made for TV movie? They saw diminishing returns so thought that way could be cheaper.

And that third one was not good at all.

Well, you can't feel too bad about it. Lol. If I remember correctly, they also had a different actress playing the mom/wife. None of the kids (except for the baby who was now a preteen) appeared in the film. Originally, it was going to be in theaters but Disney lost interest in it. They were soon having success with direct-to-video sequels and thought this would be a good title.

It wasn't. It was way under budget compared to the first two. $7 million. The first one was $18 million and the second was $40 million. So, some of it still looked good but a lot was more chintzy looking. Wayne's brother and his family were involved too.

Wayne Szalinski: Don't worry about them, they've got the Thompson kids with them. They'll be fine.

Diane Szalinski: That's another thing I'm worried about: Amy. In the dark. With Little Russ Thompson.

Wayne Szalinski: Get some rest.

Diane Szalinski: They'd better behave themselves.

Surprisingly, it was one that I didn't see in the theater.

I didn't either. Even though it was sold out, I never got back to a theater to see it.
