Heart Appreciation Thread - Because the Wilson sisters rocked!
Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson of Seattle exploded onto the scene with their band Heart in the mid 70s. That decade, the sibling rockers created classic rock anthems such as "Magic Man", "Crazy On You", and "Barracuda". The early 80s were not especially kind. That is, until 1985. The Wilson sisters exploded once again in the mid 80s(as they did in the mid 70s) in a big comeback. Their self titled 1985 album delivered the hits "What About Love", "These Dreams", "Never", and "Nothing At All". "What About Love" : YouTube - Heart - What About Love 1987 saw the release of their album, "Bad Animals", which yielded hit singles such as "Alone", "Who Will You Run To", and "There's The Girl". "Alone" : YouTube - Heart - Alone The band's success carried on into the early 90s. They rested Heart for a while and created a side band called The Lovemongers. In 2004, they released "Jupiter's Darling", their first Heart album since 1993. The girls are still rocking. Their new CD, "Red Velvet Car", their first in 6 years, will be released in August of 2010. __________________

Love Heart. Ann Wilson is the fiercest female rock vocalist ever in my opinion.
"Alone" is great. There's an acoustic version out there that's much more stripped down, but it's phenomenal. Ann belts it out as usual. __________________

I still hear "These Dreams", "Alone", and "What About Love" on the pop/adult contemporary/80s stations. Usually nothing more than those same three.
Ann turned 60 on June 19. I had no idea. __________________

It's cool that they are Pacific Northwest people like myself.

They were here a few summers ago. Wonder if they will be back this summer since they have a new CD out?. I would love to see them in concert.

Congrats to Heart! Their new CD, "Red Velvet Car", debuted at #10 on the Billboard charts, making it their first top 10 album in 20 years! It also debuted at #3 on Rock Album chart.

It really is amazing. I mean, their last album came out in 2004, and it barely cracked the top 100. #94 or something like that. So, that's a great achievement for them.
