I am confused now. I always thought the new movie was supposedly a sequel of sorts to the first two films. Now, the producer says the new movie is "kind of" a reboot of the first film.

until Danny McBride releases solid info, i'm keeping quiet on what i hear. I really liked the idea of Michael being sentenced to death and something going wrong. I've always wanted to see one of the big horror icons in court and jail.

They said it essentially is a sequel to the original. I think that even means ignoring Halloween 2. I know they're certainly ignoring 3-10 which i'm okay with. Also read an article that this could very well respark the slasher franchises after such a long slump. Although some have made good money like Friday the 13th remake and Texas Chainsaw remake...and Halloween remake still holds some box office records....nothing really happened after that. I'd love to see an 80s style resurgence of slasher films!
