I always loved Halloween episodes. Roseanne did great Halloween eppys.

I always show Halloween movies to my students. We watch Garfield and The Great Pumpkin. I'm really not supposed to since it's public school, but I do it anyway.

The holidays were always a big event. There would be the Halloween themed episodes of shows, or the annual specials, and there would be new stuff here and there!. They just don't do stuff like this anymore and it's very sad. Roseanne was the best!.

Good for you!. When I was little, there were parties, costumes, and all that in school. Then schools became prisons. I'm glad I was gone by that time. Kids today are missing out. Again, good for you for being a good/cool teacher and showing them that.

Yeah, it was always fun. I loved Halloween, and I still do. It was fun to watch all the stuff on TV and to dress up.

Thanks. I always have a few students who don't celebrate Halloween, but the majority do celebrate. I don't see the point in punishing the whole class when it's just a few who do not celebrate. I always send home a letter to the parents, and if any parent have a problem, I send those student to another class.

There were kids who didn't celebrate either when we would have parties and dress up and stuff. They either got to go home, or they went to another room to read or do homework or whatever.

I make a Halloween tape every year. Been doing it since 1994.

Same here. Of course, now it's not allowed. Any party we have cannot be a holiday party. I can get away with it by calling it a "Fall" Party or a "Harvest" party.

I bet that is fun. I never taped much in the 80s. When I was a kid, I didn't know how to do that. lol

That just makes me mad. Ny one niece said they couldn't even say the word "witch" because it frightened some of the foreign kids who were there for different countries or something. It's ridiculous.

Well, I started making tapes in 1994. On the 16th now. Just filled with Halloween related shows, movies, cartoons, or anything horror/haunted related. At least I know I will have lots of Halloween goodies to watch every year!.

Yeah, it has become crazy. Kids are not allowed to have fun in school for fear of offending someone. It's really awful. Well, my kids are going to have fun. If parents have a problem, then their kids don't have to participate.

Oh that sounds fun. I would love to have a Halloween collection.

We need more teachers like you. It might be a good thing I don't have kids. I would be so ticked with some of these things going on in schools. Then again, I don't have kids and I'm still ticked!!. Lol.

Yeah, it's been a lot of fun. Do the same thing for Christmas.

Heh, thanks. Most kids want to have fun. It's the parents who won't allow it. I've had kids cry because their parents wouldn't let them participate. It's sad.

It must be fun to watch all of that.

That's very sad. If you ask me, that's taking away a great deal of magic in childhood. It's one of those great memories you remember. Very, very sad.

Jenny - I love Halloween too. I still love it, even though it's not the same. I take my niece out trick or treating, and there's hardly any kids. Not like in my day. Roseanne was the best. It was an event every year looking forward to her Halloween shows. Home Improvement was good too.
