The Growing Pains Appreciation Thread

The show's premise is based around the fictional Seaver family, who reside on Long Island, New York. Dr. Jason Seaver (Alan Thicke), a psychiatrist, works from home because his wife, Maggie Malone (Joanna Kerns), has gone back to work as a reporter. Jason has to take care of the kids: troublemaker Mike (Kirk Cameron), honors student Carol (Tracey Gold), and rambunctious Ben (Jeremy Miller). From 1988 on, Chrissy Seaver became a part of the family. She was played in her infant stage by twins Kristen and Kelsey Dohring (who alternated in the role). Beginning in the fall of 1990, Chrissy's character's age was advanced to six years old, whereupon Ashley Johnson took over the role. The show was relevant in the mid-1980s, as women going to work was becoming more and more common, as were stay-at-home dads.

They were cute. I loved how Bobby got jealous when they went on vacation. He showed up and saw her with another guy. Turned out Bobby was just as insecure as Carol was.

I haven't gotten to that ep yet, but I vaguely recall it.

I watched the two part episode that set up Just The Ten Of Us. Coach was being fired and Mike, Carol and other students staged a protest and get arrested.

The GP producers must of liked some of the Lubbock girls because I've seen two of them on the show before as different characters.

Yeah, he did. Maggie was there filming for the news. She wasn't pleased. Lol.

Cindy Lubbock was Sheena "Woo Woo" Berkowitz. Lol!.

Yeah. The one who was Wendy Lubbock appeared earlier as Ben's babysitter's sister. Ben was trying to make the moves on the babysitter, and then her big sister shows up and hits it off with Mike.

I don't remember. I just remember they were on many times and not just as the Lubbocks.

I want to watch some eps but haven't.
