Danny Elfman #1 - One of our favorite 80s composers!

Like Spielberg/Williams, some filmmakers and composers just go together like Burton/Elfman. Danny Elfman's film scores include "Pee Wee's Big Adventure", "Batman", "Beetlejuice", "Scrooged", "Summer School", "Back To School", "Midnight Run", "Wisdom", "Big Top Pee Wee" and others.

In addition to movies, Elfman composed two legendary 80's TV theme songs - "The Simpsons" and "Tales From The Crypt" :

Elfman went on to score many more Burton films as well as "Men In Black", "Spider-Man", "Good Will Hunting" and the TV series "Desperate Housewives".

I mean, these themes are just as famous and beloved as the movies. Why get rid of themes that are famous and a huge part of the culture that everyone knows? Imagine a 'Star Wars' movie without the theme. There would be riots. Plus, the scores nowadays, while well made, are nothing memorable. I would be hard pressed to remember any in the last decade or more.

You're spot on with those comments. Don't mess with what works.

There is a new animated 'Grinch' movie coming out and Danny wrote the score for it.
