That is interesting because there are many times when it seems Jon knows what is going on, what Garfield is saying and reacts accordingly.

Yes, it always seems like a direct dialogue between Jon and Garfield. Now that I know Jon's not hearing the words, it puts a new spin on things. It makes Jon seem more frustrated and unhinged, the product of too much isolation.
