All of which and more equals lots of dollars signs for both men. Even splitting down the middle...think about it. They release another movie. budget 50 million dollars. It makes 500 million domestically, 350 million internationally. Almost a billion dollars. They get to split a good percentage of that. Then home video release. Syndication and on demand money. Potential for the merch from that movie alone. Selling rights to more sequels. it would be a cash cow that keeps on giving because horror never dies.

Jason will live again!
All those things would be great. $500 million domestically. Lol. That is a nice dream. But everyone involved really need to come together and work together.

So here's a potential thing that happens. LeBron James buys out the rights to the series from Miller, allowing him legal clearance to release the movie in the US only and thus giving leverage to deal with Horror Inc, Sean S Cunningham's company, to work out a deal worldwide. All the men want is to make money. LeBron is a good businessman and we're now living in an age where we can't underestimate people. The first thing people thought of the Halloween remake when it was announced a year ago was that it would suck because comedian Danny McBride was the writer. And now it's the biggest horror movie opening ever and breaking many records. We have to give everyone the shot. LeBron has the celebrity status and money to make some big waves in the Friday camp. I'm open.

And believe me. I'm nervous. This lawsuit has hurt the franchise so badly. The video game was on cloud 9 and was pending a map from Jason X and bringing an Uber Jason costume into the game. Hundreds of thousands of players were excited. And this lawsuit cancelled that DLC pack. This lawsuit has cancelled the scripts that were pending. Derek Mears, who played Jason in the 09 remake, has voiced so much support and love of the role hoping ot take it up again. Something needs to happen for the fans. Victor Miller and Sean Cunningham are no longer looking like artists. They're looking like money whores. They don't care about their baby. They care about the pay day. Something needs to happen.

Ask a question and I can tell you. I know almost everything about the big 4 horror franchises. That's Halloween, nightmare on elm street, friday the 13th and texas chainsaw massacre. It's sad that in recent years, those movies have fizzled out and any attempts to breathe new life has been mostly a failure....but with the new Halloween, I hope to see some new amazing horror movies.

Well, please. Barry and I are great authorities on these movies. Ask us anything you're not clear on or confused about. The lawsuit is confusing a lot of people. I have a very good grasp on it. And i'm mad!

I'm sure it has been talked about on this thread, but I haven't kept up. Why are they suing?

Okay, so Victor Miller WROTE the original Friday the 13th and created the name Jason Voorhees. Sean S Cunningham directed the original. Sean runs the company Horror Inc, which overseeds pretty much all things Friday related. Victor sold Sean his script and pretty mcuh gave Sean creative freedom.

After so many years, those rights revert back to the original author. So June this year, the rights went back to Victor Miller. How the rights break down is that Victor Miller owns the rights to Friday the 13th and Jason Voorhees as a kid in the United States. Sean Cunningham owns the internationl rights and Jason as an adult. It's a confusing lawsuit tofans because it makes no sense why the two can't come together and be like "hey let's make money". And it's not that Victor or Sean are being that money hungry, it's just that now that he's legally entitled to more money, Victor is making sure he gets it. But he's old as hell, lol.

Basically something needs to happen. The judge ruled in Victor's favor and Sean had 30 days to file an appeal or else it would mean that a deal was made and all would be right in the world. Sean Cunningham filed an appeal thus making this lawsuit still ongoing and a headache for all horror fans.

One news story was updated saying Victor has now taken the project to Vertigo which is in cahoots with Lebron or something. Warner Bros. would still have to distribute it.
