You know damn well why there wasn't a sequel. Like 99.9999% of horror movies, the originals are always great. There was no more story to be told. Especially the way the remake bastardized the ending. This movie is damn near perfect.

John Carpenter is the king of having an eerie atmosphere in his movie. Prince of Darkness, The Fog, The Thing and Halloween are the best examples of that.
